Virtual Server Session and Remote Local PC – The “Synch” function doesn’t work
Question: We have multiple sites and all our PC work stations run applications from the corporate server via “virtual” sessions. When we select the “Synch Data” button from the terminal “Download” screen, nothing happens. Help!
Answer: Our software uses MS ActiveSynch (Windows XP OS) or Windows Mobile Device Manager (Windows Vista or 7 OS) to establish the communications between the PC and the handheld, batch terminal. These communication applications typically don’t work directly with a virtual session, IE., Terminal Services or Citrix session.
You’ll may be able to set up a pass-through system, so that the physical port and drive (EX, USB) on the local PC can be passed through and recognized by the Virtual Manager. You may also be able to install the GigaTrak client application on the local PC, then point it to directly to the database on the host server.
If these options won’t work, you’ll need to use an alternative method to transfer the data. Please refer to our client website for documents on other options to transfer the data. If there is still an issue, please contact the customer support number (found on the HELP Tab Menu, under the “About” selection).
