Question: I’m using the handheld terminal, but when I scan all my data, the fields don’t advance, and I can’t enter information for additional items.

Answer: Question:  EX:  I’ve
·         Entered my barcode
·         Choose CHECK IN
·         Scanned the asset
·         Screen came up with Asset Barcode, it showed who it was assigned to
and which Storage location it belongs to.

The options I available to get out of the screen are: Back to Menu and RESET. That’s it.  I also says 0 data records.
How do I get out of that screen and move on to the next asset?

Answer:   It sounds like the handheld scanner  is not appending  a carriage return to the end of the Scan; so, the fields will not automatically advance.  To manually advance to the next data field, Press the Enter key after you scan a barcode.

To make the scanner “Auto Enter”, you’ll need to refer to the Hardware Quick Start or Setup document that was provided with your system.  There are instructions there for setting up the scanner “Auto Enter” feature.   (This is typically referred to as “appending a carriage return to a barcode scan.)
