Excel changes file template import data into scientific notation
Question: I’ve set up my file import template, using an Excel template; however, Excel keeps changing some of the larger cell values into scientific notation.
Answer: To prevent excel from switching each value to scientific notation when data is entered, it may
be necessary to re-format each cell to ‘TEXT’. To do this:
Select all of the cells in the data file.
Then, using the dropdown under the HOME tab, switch them
from GENERAL to TEXT before entering numbers.
