Can I expect a full 8-hr shift from my handheld device?
Modern batteries today are good for 300-400 cycles or charges. After that, they decline in performance. Handheld barcode terminals are designed to provide a full shift of use – typically 8 hours. This does require that the battery be fully charged and serviceable. Newer batteries, do however, fail quickly once their lifespan is up. So, once performance begins to drop in less than 8 hours of use, it will soon be time to replace the battery.
