Barcodes – Can’t scan them (II)

Question: I am trying to scan barcode – looks like a bunch of dots in a box, but, the scanner won’t read it?

Answer: It sounds like you may be trying to scan 2D or image type barcode with the wrong type of scanner. Scanners are designed to scan either linear (straight line), or 2D (image style) barcode. Typically a “linear” imager only scans linear barcode, while a 2D area imager, will scan either.
