When using the handheld to add tools we choose the location (facility) but, later when we sync to the server the items show “unassigned” for Facility and Location.
Question: Why does the storage location (facility) show up as unassigned/unassigned when we sync the tools we’ve added with the TTS “Add Tools” function on the mobile handheld terminal to the server?
Answer: Depending upon the version of software you have, the handheld ‘Add Tool’ function doesn’t require you to enter a storage location. This was by design, to keep the function simple and require minimum input from the user. So, it automatically designates the storage facility and location as ‘unassigned/unassigned’
Once the transactions are uploaded, synched and ‘Committed’ to the database, the user can go to the “Find Tool” function. From there, search, under the Facility and Location dropdowns, for all ‘unassigned/unassigned’ items.
Then, from the same ‘Find Tool’ screen, Select the “Change Storage Location’ button.
The storage locations for tools can be changed as a group, or individually.
