We were able to sync the data from handheld to the program on our PC; but after SYNCHING and SAVING, we have to select COMMIT to have the changes saved? Does the data on the handheld get erased? How do we erase it? We just want to make sure the handheld doesn’t lose our transactions.
Question: We were able to sync the data from handheld to the program on our PC; but after SYNCHING and SAVING, we have to select COMMIT to have the changes saved? Does the data on the handheld get erased? How do we erase it? We just want to make sure the handheld doesn’t lose our transactions.
Answer: When you “SAVE” the data (from the DOWNLOAD Function), this saves the working data you see on the Download screen. It does NOT save the data to the main database.
ONLY when the COMMIT Button is selected, is the data downloaded from the handheld terminal merged with the main application main database.
When you synch the handheld, the data on the handheld is removed from the handheld and transferred to the PC application.
IF you delete or clear the data from the Download window without selecting the Commit Button, the transactions previously uploaded from the terminal will be lost.
Once the data is Committed, you will need to re-synch the handhelds to transfer the new, current data set to them.
