Tool Catalog or Master Item / Template

Question: I have already set up my system with Equipment/Tools. What is the Master (or Catalog) function used for? It looks like just a duplicate of the Tool Function.

Answer: The Master (or Catalog) icon is an easy way to set up a “template” for tools. The template allows you to set up all the basics of a tool ‘group’. Then, you simply go to the Tool Function to add each ‘uniquely barcoded’, or ‘binned/quantity’, or ‘container’ item.

The tools added from the Tool Function, using the Master (or Catalog) template as a basis, allows one to create tools quickly with consistency (with standard naming convention, description and standard image or document items).
