Deleting assets or location from the GigaTrak application if they are no longer needed
Question: How do we delete an asset and or location from Gigatrack if we no longer want it in the system
Answer: The Delete and Purge feature must be enabled in the system in order to
delete items or locations. NOTE: Once this setting is set, all users will have the ability to delete.
To Delete an asset or item:
1. From the GigaTrak PC application:
Select the File text tab | Select ‘Setup Options’
2. Select F2 tab ‘Application Settings’
3. Check the ‘Allow Delete Asset & Purge History’ box
Select OK
Select Yes
4. Select the Assets function button
Search for the Asset you wish to delete
Either double click on the asset in the grid listing,
or highlight it and Select the Asset Information tab
5. Select the Delete button
Select Yes
Select OK
To Delete a Location :
As long as the Location has no history attached to it, meaning any assets
or items previously assigned to it has been deleted, the Location can be
removed.
1. From the Support text tab, Select ‘Location Administration’
Locate and Select the Location you wish to delete
Select the Delete button
