Barcodes – Can’t scan them
Question: I am finding it rather difficult to read small, stand-alone 1D codes. What I have done is block off any additional barcodes in the area if they are present, and it has helped, but long 1D and small 1D are next to impossible.
Answer: The barcodes may be too dense or small for a standard range imager to read reliably. Barcodes are classified not only by Type (Linear, 2D, 417PDF, RSSI, QR, etc.), but also by “mil spec” or size and density. It may be that the scanner being used does not meet the specifications to scan that particular type of barcode.
(You might also check and be sure there is no protective film covering the scanner/imager lens.)
